In central NJ along the Delaware River, northwest of Trenton; organized Mar 13, 1714 from Burlington County. Name Origin: For Robert Hunter (?-1734), colonial governor of New York and East and West Jersey (1710-19).

Area (sq mi): 437.76 (land 429.94; water 7.82). Pop per sq mi: 303.30.
Pop 2005: 130,404. State rank: 18. Pop change: 2000-20005 6.90%; 1990-2000 13.20%. Pop 2000: 121,989 (White 92.20%; Black or African American 2.20%; Hispanic or Latino 2.80%; Asian 1.90%; Other 1.90%). Foreign born: 6.30%. Median age: 38.80.
Income 2000: per capita $36,370; median household $79,888; Pop below poverty level: 2.60%. *Personal per capita income 2000-2003: $52,836-$55,196.
Unemployment 2004: 3.20%. Change from 2000: 1.10%. Median travel time to work: 33.50 minutes. Working outside county of residence: 58.70%.
