Hypercar

An automobile from Hypercar, Inc., Basalt, CO (www.hypercar.com) that uses advanced concepts. It is made of lightweight carbon fiber and is powered by fuel cells, and its electronic system is an integrated network of modules rather than individual ones. The company claims that Hypercars will be the dominant form of transportation by 2020. Hypercar's research and technology is promoted by the Rocky Mountain Institute, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1982 to focus on energy policy. See fuel cell. See also Hypercard.

The latest version of Lovins's Hypercar concept is a detailed virtual design illustrating an SUV crossover vehicle that would fully compete with today's midsize entry-level luxury SUVs.
So rather than trying to patent and auction off the hypercar work and then hope the buyer doesn't sit on it, we deliberately put most of it into the public domain and got everyone fighting over it.
He is cofounder and CEO of Rocky Mountain Institute, a nonprofit public charity that incubated and spun off Fiberforge (under its original name of Hypercar, Inc.
