IGRP(Interior Gateway Routing Protocol) A proprietary routing protocol from Cisco that was developed in 1988 to overcome the shortcomings of RIP. IGRP takes bandwidth, latency, reliability and current traffic load into consideration. It is typically used within an autonomous system, such as an Internet domain. IGRP was superseded by Enhanced IGRP (EIGRP), which provides enhancements such as the ability to detect a loop in the network. How to thank TFD for its existence?
