Ipin (Hsiuchou), a city in China in Szechwan Province, on the left bank of the Yangtze River at the mouth of the Min River. Ipin is a river port and has a large railway station. Population, 212,000 (1959, estimate). In Ipin are located metallurgical, chemical, machine-building, paper, textile, and tanning industries, as well as wine-making and other branches of the food industry.
