The infrared energy that is radiated in the invisible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum is sensed by a non-contacting IR sensor that is trained on the part in the work station. Draeger Safety first introduced the IR sensor technology in 1993, and based on this experience has designed a revolutionary new sensor. Normally IR sensors must be kept very clean to be accurate, but this one uses one sensing beam to control the web edge, plus an independent reference head to monitor dust conditions. |
