Existing network resources can be leveraged to save on capital and operating expenses by providing lower cost ISUP trunks to replace expensive Class 5 PRI links. Signalling protocols: Functions of, and the relationships between, the various protocols used in GSM networks including ISUP, MAP and BSSAP use of ISUP signalling in setting up a fixed call connection demonstration of the application of the MAP signalling protocol to location updates, to call set-up and to handover. The lab also hosts several SS7 solutions with multiple ISUP protocol stacks, carrier grade server hardware from Sun Microsystems and Hewlett- Packard, signal processing and monitoring equipment, VoIP devices including hardware from Lucent, Nuera and Cisco, CMTS routers (for broadband cable network access), xDSL multiplexers (for DSL broadband connectivity), Dialogic powered IVR technologies and SIP devices. |
