MobileMe A suite of Internet-based services from Apple. Subscription based, it provides Web-based e-mail, contacts and calendars as well as synchronization of this content on Macs, iPhones, iPod touches, iPads and Windows PCs. It also includes photo and file sharing, cloud storage, Mac remote control and a location to publish a user's iWeb site. Find My Phone helps retrieve a lost iPhone or iPad by pinpointing the device on a map, sending it a "lost and found" message or locking it remotely.Introduced in 2002 as iTools, it was free to Mac users but was changed to a subscription service soon after. Later renamed .Mac (dot Mac), the name was changed again in 2008 to MobileMe. MobileMe was designed to integrate smoothly with the iLife applications that come with the Mac (see iLife).
