Iadgar Nasriddinova

Nasriddinova, Iadgar Sadykovna 

Born Dec. 26, 1920, in Kokand, Fergana Oblast, Uzbek SSR. Soviet state and party figure. Member of the CPSU since 1942. Daughter of a worker.

Nasriddinova graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Railroad Engineers in 1941. She worked as an engineer at a track machinery yard of the Tashkent Railroad in 1941 and 1942. Nasriddinova was secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Uzbekistan from 1942 to 1946. She was first secretary of the Tashkent Oblast Committee of the Komsomol in 1946–47 and second secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Uzbekistan from 1948 to 1950. She was involved in party work from 1950 to 1952. She was minister of the building materials industry of the Uzbek SSR from 1952 to 1955. She served as vice-chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR from 1955 to 1959. She was chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Uzbek SSR from 1959 to 1970 and vice-chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 1960 to 1970. She was chairman of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 1970 to 1974. She has been a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU since 1956. She was a deputy to the fifth through ninth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Nasriddinova has been awarded four Orders of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution, four other orders, and various medals.
