a mountain range on the border of Khabarovsk Krai and Amur Oblast, RSFSR. The northern continuation of the Bureia Range, the Iam-Alin’ Range forms the divide between the Selemdzha and Amgun’ river basins. It is 180 km long, with a maximum elevation of 2,295 m at Mount Gorod-Makit. The range is composed chiefly of granites and schists. The lower slopes (up to an elevation of 1,500 m) are covered with coniferous forests; at higher elevations there are thickets of dwarf stone pine and mountain tundra.
