Iambol 

a city in southeastern Bulgaria, on the Tundzha River. Capital of lambol District. Population, 80,000 (1976).

Iambol is a transportation junction. The city has a chemical combine that produces polyester fibers. It also has a machinebuilding industry, including agricultural machine building; a food-processing industry, dominated by milling and canning; and cotton and tobacco industries.
