Iaremcha

a city under oblast jurisdiction in Ivano-Frankovsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located in the Lesistye Carpathians at an elevation of 665 m, Iaremcha is situated on the Prut River, 70 km from Ivano-Frankovsk. The city has a railroad station.

Iaremcha is a climatic health resort. Summers are moderately warm, with an average July temperature of 17°C, and winters are mild, with an average January temperature of –6°C. Precipitation totals 930 mm annually. The resort has sanatoriums for patients with tuberculosis of the lungs, two tourist centers, a house of rest, and boarding hotels. A museum and monument devoted to the partisan unit of S. A. Kovpak and S. V. Rudnev, which operated in the Carpathians in 1943, are located in Iaremcha.
