In south-central LA, west of Baton Rouge; organized 1807 (prior to statehood). Name Origin: For Pierre le Moyne, Sieur d'Iberville (1661-1706), French-Canadian naval officer who explored the Mississippi River delta and founded French colonies at present-day Biloxi and Mobile; governor of LA (1703).

Area (sq mi): 652.84 (land 618.64; water 34.20). Pop per sq mi: 52.40.
Pop 2005: 32,386. State rank: 33. Pop change: 2000-20005 -2.80%; 1990-2000 7.30%. Pop 2000: 33,320 (White 48.60%; Black or African American 49.70%; Hispanic or Latino 1.00%; Asian 0.30%; Other 0.80%). Foreign born: 0.70%. Median age: 34.40.
Income 2000: per capita $13,272; median household $29,039; Pop below poverty level: 23.10%. *Personal per capita income 2000-2003: $18,446-$21,498.
Unemployment 2004: 8.90%. Change from 2000: 0.30%. Median travel time to work: 26.60 minutes. Working outside county of residence: 45.30%.

Iberville Parish Bayou Sorrel to 30 1030CST Maringouin 1200CST Heavy rainfall caused extensive flodding of roadways across much of the parish anf resulted in the flooding of at least one home.
The study area was characterized by varying degrees of hurricane damage (designated as low, moderate, and high), two forest types [bottomland hardwood ridges and slightly lower baldcypress (Taxodium distichum)-tupelogum (Nyssa aquatica) swales], and two tree sizes (pulpwood and sawtimber) (see Helm 1995; Salyer 1995) and located south of Interstate 10 between the Atchafalaya and Mississippi Rivers in Iberville Parish, Louisiana.
Designed for K-12 teachers and students, the HealthTeacher curriculum will be taught in West Baton Rouge Parrish Schools, Zachary Community Schools, East Baton Rouge Parish School System, Central Community School System, Livingston Parish Public Schools, Ascension Parish Schools, Iberville Parish Schools, Pointe Coupee Parish Schools, Assumption Parish School District, and East Feliciana Parish School District.
