Ibn Miskawayh, Abu Ali Ahmad Ibn Muhammad 

Date of birth unknown; died 1030. Historian and philosopher who wrote in Arabic.

Ibn Miskawayh wrote the Book of Experiences of the Nations, the first significant work of general history after Tabari. The sections on the history of the caliphate in the tenth century are particularly important. He also wrote treatises on philosophy and ethics.
