Arab scholar and encyclopedist of the late ninth and early tenth century.

A Persian by birth, ibn Rusta wrote The Book of Precious Necklaces, of which only the seventh volume, containing valuable information about the peoples of the Near and Middle East and Eastern Europe, is extant.
