Ignatovich, Boris Vsevolodovich
Born Mar. 22 (Apr. 3), 1899, in Slutsk, present-day Byelorussian SSR. Soviet photography expert. Member of the CPSU since 1925. Since 1927, Ignatovich has worked as a press photographer for Pravda, Komsomol’skaia pravda, Trud, and Bednota (published until 1931). He was the first chairman of the Association of Moscow Press Photographers (1929) and was a member of the Oktiabr’ association. His best-known works are those that show the socialist transformations of the 1920’s and 1930’s and record the leading Soviet cultural figures. In Ignatovich’s work the search for photographic means of expression is closely related to his artistic mastery of a new reality. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
