Iksan (ēk`sän`), city (1995 pop. 322,749), NW North Jeolla (Cholla) prov., South Korea, on the Mangyeong and Geum rivers. A rail and highway transportation hub, the city lies on a plain where grains, fruits, and vegetables are grown. The knitwear, precious metals, and jewelry industries are important.
