Ilhéus

Ilhéus (ēlyĕ`s), city (1991 pop. 223,750), Bahia state, E Brazil, a port on Ilhéus Bay, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean. Founded in the mid-16th cent., it became the world's chief cacao port during the early 20th cent. Ilhéus is still the cacao center of Brazil. It exports rubber, timber, chemicals, and piassava. A hydroelectric project is located north of Ilhéus.

We used a multiplex nested reverse transcription--PCR (RT-PCR) assay to identify the most common flaviviruses in Brazil (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, yellow fever virus) as well as DENV-4, Ilheus virus, Iguape virus, Rocio virus, and SLEV.
Tiny Ilheus has successfully traded chocolate for high tech; it is now the third-largest computer producer in Brazil, and a model for other troubled towns in the region.
The manufacturing facility of Ilheus is one of the first Brazilian factories to provide built-to-order service, around the efficient cell-based manufacturing model, which will produce units manufactured according to a specific order by the users.
