Iliev, Liubomir Georgiev

Iliev, Liubomir Georgiev 

Born Apr. 7, 1913, in Turnovo. Bulgarian mathematician. Academician of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1967). Member of the Bulgarian Communist Party since 1947.

Iliev became a professor at the University of Sofia in 1952. His principal works deal with the theory of analytic functions and the theory of approximation. Iliev received the Dimitrov Prize in 1951 and 1969 and was named a foreign member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in 1976.
