Imabari (ēmä`bärē), city (1990 pop. 123,114), Ehime prefecture, N Shikoku, Japan, on the Hiuchi Sea. It is a commercial and fishing port and a manufacturing center with industries producing cotton textiles and food products.

Tokyo, Japan, July 4, 2006 - (JCN) - Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, or 'K Line', launched an 88,000 DWT coal carrier, the JP GUNJO, at the Marugame Shipyard of Imabari Shipbuilding Co.
The new build 154,200 cubic meter capacity LNG vessel is being constructed by Imabari Shipbuilding Co.
headquartered in Imabari, Japan will take over the Industrial Products & Equipment Division of Toshiba Lighting & Technology Corporation (TLT).
