Imabari

Imabari (ēmä`bärē), city (1990 pop. 123,114), Ehime prefecture, N Shikoku, Japan, on the Hiuchi Sea. It is a commercial and fishing port and a manufacturing center with industries producing cotton textiles and food products.
Imabari 

a city and port in Japan on the island of Shikoku, on the shores of the Gulf of Bingo, Ehime prefecture. Population, 111,000 (1970). Imabari is one of the centers for the textile industry (primarily the production of cotton thread and cloth, including flannel). A large flour combine is located there.

the operator of the Daimaru and Matsuzakaya department store chains, has already decided to close its department store in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, by the end of the year.
Tokyo, Japan, July 4, 2006 - (JCN) - Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, or 'K Line', launched an 88,000 DWT coal carrier, the JP GUNJO, at the Marugame Shipyard of Imabari Shipbuilding Co.
The vessel, to be named the Overseas Carina, will be built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co.
