Special Features: Indian Springs is thought to be the oldest state park in the United States -- it was acquired by the state in 1825 and became an official "State Forest Park" in 1927. A museum at the park highlights the Creek Indians, who used the springs for centuries to heal the sick, as well as the park's resort history in the 1800s and the structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression.
