An 85-year old manufacturer of induction furnace systems used by industrial manufacturers, Ajax Magnathermic was attempting to update their business processes by making product information, including CAD drawings, part definitions, engineering analysis, bill of materials (BOM), change orders, process plans and all other product and engineering-related documents more accessible to people within their organization.
Goal--An AFS-funded project that grew into a multi-year project funded by the DOE evaluated the metallic and alloy recovery of different charge materials for a coreless induction furnace.
