Inozemtsev, Nikolai Nikolaevich 

Born Apr. 4, 1921, in Moscow. Soviet economist and historian, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968; corresponding member, 1964). Became a member of the CPSU in 1943.

Inozemtsev graduated from the Moscow Institute of International Relations in 1949. Between 1952 and 1955 he was a consultant to the journal Kommunist and simultaneously an instructor. Deputy director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR from 1959 to 1961, he became deputy editor in chief of the newspaper Pravda in 1961 and director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations in 1966.

Inozemtsev’s main works are on foreign policy, international relations, the world economy, and the international communist movement, and he is the editor and coauthor of International Relations After the Second World vols. 1–3, 1962–65) and The Political Economy of Present-day Monopoly Capitalism (vols. 1–2, 1970). He was elected a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU at the Twenty-fourth Congress of the CPSU (1971). Inozemtsev has been awarded the Order of Lenin, five other orders, and medals.
