instance variable

In object technology, a variable used by an instance of a class. It holds data for a particular object. Contrast with class variable. See class.

instance variable [′in·stəns ‚ver·ē·ə·bəl]
(computer science)
The data in an object of an object-oriented program.
(programming)instance variable - In object-oriented programming, one of the variables of a class template which may have a different value for each object of that class. Instance variables hold the state of an object.
