Internet Architecture Board

Internet Architecture Board
(www.iab.org) Founded in 1983 as the Internet Activities Board, it is a volunteer organization that provides architectural guidance to and adjudicates conflicts for the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). It appoints the IETF Chair and all other Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG) candidates. It also advises the Internet Society (ISOC) relating to technical and procedural matters.
Internet Architecture Board - (IAB) The technical body that oversees the development of the Internet suite of protocols. It has two task forces: the Internet Engineering Task Force and the Internet Research Task Force.

"IAB" previously stood for Internet Activities Board.

The Internet Architecture Board, one of the foremost authorities on internet standards and infrastructure, released a statement shortly after Site Finder's launch, outlining how this creates scalability issues and problems with users of non-English languages.
It provides leadership in addressing issues that confront the future of the Internet, and it is the organizational home for the groups responsible for Internet infrastructure standards, including the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the Internet Architecture Board (IAB).
At that time, the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), which oversees the internet's technical standards, issued a statement saying it believed the VeriSign service contained "significant DNS protocol errors".
