commerce clause

In the Constitution of the United States (Article I, section 8), the clause that authorizes Congress “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with Indian Tribes.” It is the legal foundation of much of the U.S. government's regulatory authority. The state legislature openly challenged Congress' authority to legislate on gun issues under the guise of the interstate commerce clause, by passing the Montana Firearms Freedom Act (MFFA).
This bill basically charges the Federal government with using the Interstate Commerce Clause and US Code 18 USC 922 as an excuse for them to regulate firearms that are involved in interstate commerce.
Can it be done so it doesnt violate the Interstate Commerce clause of the Constitution?
