Iri (ē`rē`), former city, North Jeolla (Cholla) prov., SW South Korea. An agricultural center and transportation hub, it was absorbed into Iksan Iksan (ēk`sän`), city (1995 pop. 322,749), NW North Jeolla (Cholla) prov., South Korea, on the Mangyeong and Geum rivers.
