irradiance
The density of the luminous flux which is incident on a surface.

Irradiance 

(at a point of a surface), the ratio of the radiant flux incident upon a small surface element containing the point being considered to the area of the surface element. In meteorology and actinometry, this quantity is also called radiation intensity. Units of irradiance are watts per square meter and calories per square centimeter per minute.
