Irrawaddy
the main river in Myanmar, rising in the north in two headstreams and flowing south through the whole length of Myanmar, to enter the Andaman Sea by nine main mouths. Length: 2100 km (1300 miles)

Marine biologist Piya, of Indian descent but American and without knowledge of any Indian language, arrives to study a shrinking population of Irrawaddy, or river dolphins.
The last few times that I've been there, I've seen maybe two Gangetic dolphins; I haven't seen any Orcaellae or Irrawaddy dolphins.
The image was brought from the Mandalay region, where it was quarried, down the Irrawaddy River to its present resting site.
