Iskitim
a city (since 1938) in Novosibirsk Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Berd’ River near where that river empties into the Novosibirsk Reservoir. It has a railroad station on the Novosibirsk-Barnaul line, 55 km south of Novosibirsk. Population, 45,000 (1970). It has plants that produce cement, lime, reinforced-concrete items, and sanitary-engineering equipment; there are machine shops and a furniture factory.
