Established: 1908.
Location: On the north side of Charlotte Harbor in Turtle Bay, southwest of Punta Gorda, Florida.
Activities: Boating, saltwater fishing.
Special Features: Administered as a satellite of the J.N. "Ding" Darling NWR (see separate entry). Occasionally, boaters visit some of the islands with uplands such as Bull Key, but mosquitoes are usually so numerous that visiting any of the islands is extremely uncomfortable.
Habitats: Six undeveloped tracts of land located in a complex mangrove islands surrounded by brackish waters. The land totals 20 acres.
Access: Year round; accessible by boat only.
Wild life: Shorebirds, gulls, and terns. Also, raccoons, marsh rabbits, manatees, sea turtles, American crocodile, bald eagle, wood stork and east indigo snake.
