Iztapalapa

Iztapalapa or Ixtapalapa (both: ēstäpälä`pä), city (1990 pop. 1,490,499), Federal District, S central Mexico. It is a commercial and industrial center. Iztapalapa was founded on the site of an important pre-Colombian city.

The PT victory in Iztapalapa raised hopes that Lopez Obrador could run again in the 2012 election as a center-left candidate.
Se han realizado varios estudios: uno por la Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) y otro por el AyMa Ingenieria Consultores sA de CV--solicitados por la Comision Estatal de Aguas y Saneamiento (CEAS)--y otro por la Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana-Unidad Iztapalapa (uAlvl-IZT), y el Instituto Mexicano de Tecnologia del Agua (IMTA), los cuales detectan niveles excesivos de contaminantes en el rio Santiago.
