JAD

(Joint Application Development) An approach to systems analysis and design introduced by IBM in the late 1970s that emphasizes teamwork between user and technician. Small groups meet to determine system objectives and the business transactions to be supported. The meetings are run by a neutral facilitator who can move the group toward well-defined goals. Results include a prototype of the proposed system. See RAD.
