JEDEC
The division of the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) that deals with semiconductor standards (officially, the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association of EIA). JEDEC was formed in 1958 when the Joint Electron Tube Engineering Council (JETEC) split into two Joint Electron Device Engineering Councils (JEDEC), one for electron tubes and the other for semiconductors. JETEC was the 1944 merger of the Radio Manufacturers Association (RMA) and the National Association of Electrical Manufacturers (NEMA), founded in 1924 and 1926 respectively. For more information, visit www.jedec.org. See EIA.
