Jackson, Dugald (Caleb) (1865–1951) electrical engineer, educator; born in Kennett Square, Pa. In 1887 he began building electrical power plants and street railway systems. As an innovative educator (University of Wisconsin, 1891–1907; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1907–35), he introduced problem-solving as preparation for the needs of industry.
