James H. "Sloppy" Floyd State Park Location: 3 miles southeast of Summerville via US 27. Facilities: 25 tent/trailer/RV campsites, pioneer campground, 4 cottages, 4 picnic shelters, 2 playgrounds, 2 stocked lakes, boardwalk, boat ramps and docks, boat rentals, fishing pier (é). Activities: Camping, boating (no gas motors), fishing, hiking. Special Features: Park was named for James H "Sloppy" Floyd, who served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1953 until 1974. It is surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest (see entry in national forests section), which has miles of hiking and bridle trails.
