Janeway, Theodore Caldwell (1872–1917) physician; born in New York City (son of Edward Gamaliel Janeway). He followed his father's footsteps, eschewing study abroad for work in his father's office. He is credited with pioneering the clinical use of a patient's blood pressure in The Clinical Study of Blood Pressure (1904), and with introducing sphygmomanometers. |
