Javarí
a river in South America, a right tributary of the Amazon. Except for its upper reaches, it is the border between Brazil and Peru. Length, 1,056 km. The river rises in Peru, in the foothills of the Peruvian Andes (the Montana), and it flows through the Amazon lowland. It is fed by rain. The high-water period is from December to April.
