Jensen, Peter Laurits (1886–1961) audio engineer; born near Stubbekobing, Denmark. He came to the United States in 1909. With Edwin Pridham, he developed the first dynamic horn loudspeaker, called "Magnavox" (1914–15). He helped found the Magnavox Company in 1917. During World War I, he developed an antinoise microphone that could be heard over engine roar. In the 1920s he worked on improving sound fidelity. In 1943 he founded Jensen Industries.
