Jerome State Historic Park Location: In the town of Jerome just off SR 89A, on Douglas Road. Facilities: Historic mansion, antique mining equipment, history exhibits, visitor center, restrooms, picnic area, picnic shelters (é). Special Features: Park features the mansion of James S. "Rawhide" Douglas, built in 1916, which sits atop a hill overlooking the scenic Verde Valley. Exhibits recount the story of this once flourishing copper mining community, including the people, places, and technology that played a major role in Arizona's mining history.
