Jesenice 

a city in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia, in Yugoslavia, on the Sava Dolinka River. Population, 16,000 (1970). Jesenice is the site of the oldest metallurgical works in Yugoslavia. Cast iron, high-quality steel, and rolled metal are produced. There are also enterprises of the wood-products industry. Jesenice is the tourist center of the Karawanken Mountains.
