Transportation Department will help muffle jet noise for 52 homes around the Bob Hope Airport, Congressman Brad Sherman announced Tuesday.
The plan would put the smaller operators in two areas, one of which sits along the western edge of Balboa Boulevard and abuts a neighborhood where many of the complaints over jet noise have long been coming from.
Jet noise from LAX forced many to leave the community in the '60s and '70s, but now the airport and its employees are seen as a boon for the business district.
