The film contrasts the predicament of the two with that of their wives, pregnant Donna McLoughlin (Maggie Gyllenhaal) and mother-off our Allison Jimeno (Maria Bello) stuck at home, not knowing whether their husbands were dead or alive, but fearing the worst.
This haunting article spotlighted rookie police officer and avid bowhunter Will Jimeno, one of only two Port Authority Police Department officers to be pulled alive from the ruins of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
