Jodelle, Estienne (ātyĕn` zhôdĕl`), 1532–73, French poet of the Pléiade (see under Pleiad Pleiad [from Pleiades], group of seven tragic poets of Alexandria who flourished c.280 B.C. under Ptolemy II Philadelphus.
