John Jay Homestead State Historic Site


Location:Off Route 22, south of Route 35, between Katonah and Bedford Village.
Facilities:Picnic area, historic house and gardens, interpretive displays, scenic views, gift shop, trails.
Activities:Guided and self-guided tours, hiking, horseback riding, educational programs.
Special Features:Visitors can view furnishings, portraits, and memorabilia at the retirement home of this patriot, founding father, and first Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court. Site also includes an 1820s schoolhouse and an 1830s barn, which are open for touring.
