Johnson, Douglas (Wilson) (1878–1944) geomorphologist, geographer; born in Parkersburg, W.Va. After earning his Ph.D. from Columbia University, he taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1903–07) and Harvard University (1907–12) where he met William M. Davis, the leading expert in geomorphology, then returned to teach at Columbia.
