Johnson, John Graver (1841–1917) lawyer, art collector; born in Philadelphia. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (1863) and became a corporation lawyer in Philadelphia. During his career he built an impressive collection of 19th-century English and French paintings, as well as early work by Old Masters. He bequeathed his collection to the city of Philadelphia, where it is housed in the municipal museum in Fairmount Park.
