Special Features: Site is located in a wooded area surrounding Johnson Lake, where fishing for rainbow trout is popular.

Johnson Lake State Recreation Area

Location: 7 miles south of Lexington.
Facilities: 207 campsites (113 are camping pads with electrical hookups), modern restrooms as well as vault toilets, showers, picnic areas, 5 picnic shelters, boat ramp, 8 docks, 2 fish cleaning stations, swimming beach, fishing piers (é).
Activities: Camping, boating (all types), fishing, swimming.
Special Features: Area is the heart of a complex of lakes on the Tri-County Canal system between Lexington and Cozad and provides three access points to Johnson Lake.
