Jouffroy, Théodore Simon (tāôdôr` sēmôN` zh
frwä`), 1796–1842, French philosopher. He was professor at the Collège de France and librarian at the Univ. of Paris. His translations of Thomas Reid and Dugald Stewart spread the influence of the Scottish school of philosophy. His writings stressed the distinction between psychology and physiology.
