Jovanovich, William (Iliya) (1920– ) publisher; born in Louisville, Colo. Starting as a salesman for Harcourt, Brace & Company in 1947, he rose to president by 1955 and firmly guided its transition to the large, publicly held conglomerate, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich.
