Jude, Saint

    0.03 sec.
Jude, Saint, or Saint Judas [Jude is an English form to distinguish him from Judas Iscariot], in the New Testament, one of the Twelve Apostles, also called Thaddaeus. He is thought to have been the son or brother of St. James the Less. It is doubtful that he was the Judas called the brother of Jesus or the traditional author of the Letter of St. Jude. In some passages in the New Testament he is called Judas. According to Western tradition he suffered martyrdom in Persia with St. Simon Simon, Saint (sī`mən), in the New Testament, one of the Twelve Apostles.
